1 -sea o seaside?-
Nota d'usoQuando si parla di mare nel senso di stazione balneare, il sostantivo più appropriato è seaside, non sea: I'm going to the seaside for a week, vado al mare per una settimana (non I'm going to the sea for a week). La parola sea viene usata per indicare il mare vero e proprio, mentre seaside si riferisce alla spiaggia o a un luogo di villeggiatura sul mare: Let's drive till we reach the sea, guidiamo finché non arriviamo al mare (cioè fino alla costa, da dove si vede il mare); We drove to the seaside, siamo andati al mare in macchina. -
